Some of AFSCME West Virginia's delegation at one of the largest
AFSCME International conventions in the history of our union.
This Chicago convention held August 2006, resulted in important
actions regarding organizing and politics, speakers such as New
York Senator Hillary Clinton and Illinois Senator Barack Obama
and a huge 'town hall' meeting to discuss the future of our
union. An organizing video shown to all 6000 in attendance
features a good clip starring four WV volunteer organizers
pictured below. To read more about this convention,

AFSCME Local 3252 (Doddridge-Harrison Counties)
is on the move with a new full slate of officers above. The
Officers and Stewards are a combination of involved state
employees from Highways, DHHR and the Auditors office. President
George Shelhammer and Steward Chuck Paugh discussed the need for
increasing membership within their Local's jurisdiction and
getting stewards and AFSCME bulletin boards in every state
workplace. The Local will send Delegates to the AFL-CIO Central
Labor Council meetings and have monthly Local 3252 meetings in
